Terms of Service

1. The service

BlackBizMaps ("we", "the platform") is an online directory that showcases Black-owned businesses. Business owners create an account, build a listing with photos, videos, links, and location details, and may publish that listing publicly for an annual fee.

2. Accounts

You must provide accurate information when creating your account and listing. You are responsible for everything posted under your account and for keeping your sign-in credentials secure. You must own or be authorized to represent the business you list.

3. Annual listing fee

Publishing a listing costs $20.00 per year plus a checkout fee (currently 12.9% + $0.30, $22.88 total). Payment is taken in full at the time you publish and covers one year of public visibility.

4. Non-refundable payments

All listing payments are final and non-refundable. Once your listing is published and your paid year begins, we do not provide refunds or credits for partial years, unused time, removed listings, or cancelled accounts. By paying, you acknowledge and accept this policy.

5. Yearly renewal

Listing visibility is sold one year at a time. When your paid year ends, your listing returns to private until you pay for another year. Renewing is a new annual payment at the then-current price. We may remind you before your year expires, but keeping your listing live is your responsibility.

6. Cancelling

You can cancel your listing at any time from your Business Studio using the cancel button. Cancelling stops future renewals and removes your listing from public view. Because payments are non-refundable, cancelling does not return money for the current paid year.

7. Your content

You keep ownership of the photos, videos, and text you upload. By uploading, you grant us a license to display that content on BlackBizMaps and in promoting the platform. You confirm you have the rights to everything you upload. We may remove content that is unlawful, misleading, hateful, or infringes others' rights.

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to post false business information, impersonate another business, scrape or bulk-copy the directory, or use the platform for anything unlawful. We may suspend or remove accounts and listings that break these rules, without refund.

9. No guarantee of results

We provide visibility, not customers. We do not guarantee sales, traffic, or any business outcome from your listing.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, BlackBizMaps is not liable for indirect or consequential damages, lost profits, or losses arising from use of the platform. Our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the last 12 months.

11. Changes

We may update these terms. If we make material changes, we will post the new terms here with a new date. Continuing to use the platform after changes means you accept them.
